About Us
Hide & Adele formed a partnership in 1997 and won third place at Open British that year. We were finalists
in all major competitions until we retired from competitive dance in 1998.
Before forming the couple, Hide had already made a name for himself as All-Japan Ballroom Champion, All-Japan 10 Dance Champion,World Ballroom and World 10 Dance Finalist, while Adele was also Open British Ballroom & Latin Youth Champion, UK Amateur Latin Champion, UK, Open British and International Professional Ballroom Finalist, World 10 Dance Finalist and Closed British Ballroom Champion.
Hide is currently the International Vice-Chairman of the Japan Ballroom Dance Federation (JBDF) and Vice-President of the Western Japan Ballroom Dance Federation (W-JBDF). Teaching is also based in Osaka and is aimed at all dance lovers, from general dance enthusiasts to professional and amateur competitors and spreading his activities throughout Japan, including Tokyo, Sapporo, Shizuoka, Hiroshima, Shikoku and Kyushu. He also supports competitive dancers from all over the world at “Starlight” before the three major UK competitions.
Adele is the director of Starlight and teaches based in London.
She is a member of IDTA and ISTD, the UK Dance Teachers Association, and is a member of the British Dance Council (BDC) and the Ballroom Dancers Federation (BDF).

Since retiring from competition we take part in competitions as judges. We have judged at major UK competitions, UK Dance Festival, Blackpool Dance Festival and Iternational Dance Festival, as well as The Open Worlds , Majestic Dance Festival and so on.
In Japan, Hide had chaired the judging panel for the Japan International Dance Championships held at the Nippon Budokan, the Unified All-Japan Championships and the JBDF All-Japan Championships, and has also judged the WDC World Championships and the WDC Show Dance World Championships as a representative judge for Japan.
In 2018 and 2024, he was named on the panel of evening judges at the Blackpool Dance Festival and judged Open British.
Adele has joined judge panes for Open British, UK and International many times.
She has also been invited to competitions in Italy, the USA and Thailand and others as a judge and as a coach for lesson sessions.
